US artist Brett Dennen records two tracks at Hanks

In the historical and legendary Denmark Street, we met up with American songwriter, Brett Dennen to talk about his music, touring, drawing skills and more! Hanks Guitar Shop was the setting for our intimate interview and acoustic session, and with walls lined with guitars, it was the perfect place.

Brett Dennen hails from Northern California and talks a lot about growing up in the mountains and being drawn back there when writing new music. Already on his 5th studio album, it must be an inspiring place to create. I saw him perform at the o2 Academy Brixton where he was supporting John Butler Trio on their UK tour. He held his own and got the attention of the audience, which is not always easy to do.
